My Story

On April 12th, 2026, I’ll be taking to the streets of Brighton to run the 10k for the third year running. I’m doing this to support the Brighton Natural Health Foundation (BNHF), a charity very close to my heart.

Yoga has been such a help to me both physically and mentally - keeping me calm, centred and healthy. And research shows that this and other mindful movement practices can be hugely beneficial for people facing anxiety, chronic pain and other long-term health conditions,

Unfortunately, these classes are often out of reach for those who need them most due to cost or accessibility. But at BNHF we provide free or low-cost classes—including yoga, Qigong, and Pilates—specifically for people in our community facing:
  • Mental health challenges and trauma
  • Chronic pain and long-term illness
  • Homelessness and economic disadvantage
And the results are life-changing, according to our participants: "These classes have been transformative for my physical and emotional health."

I’ve already secured my place in the race, so every penny raised goes directly to the foundation’s outreach programmes.
  • £5 can help subsidize a community class.
  • £15-£20 can "sponsor a mat" for someone who otherwise couldn't afford to attend.
  • Larger donations help fund specialized 6-week therapeutic courses for survivors of trauma or those living with chronic conditions.

And our lovely friends at the Enjoolata Foundation have agreed to match fund everything up to £1500.
