My Story
My name is Andrew Coleman, and this year I’m taking on the Brighton Marathon — my first ever marathon. Since December, I’ve been training long and hard, pushing through early mornings, tired legs, and plenty of self-doubt. Every mile has a purpose.
I’m running in loving memory of my great Nan Ivy, my Nan Peggy, my cousin’s Nan Barbara, and my cousin’s Grandad John — all of whom sadly suffered from dementia and Alzheimer’s. Watching this devastating disease affect people we love is heartbreaking. It doesn’t just take memories; it changes lives, families, and futures.
This run is about more than crossing a finish line. It’s about raising vital funds to support early diagnosis, better treatments, and meaningful support for those living with dementia — and for the families who walk this difficult journey alongside them.
With more funding, we can help people live longer, healthier, and more fulfilled lives, while also driving forward research into treatments and, one day, a cure.
If you’re able to donate, no matter how small, you’ll be helping turn miles into hope.
Let’s raise as much as we can for the Alzheimer’s charity — and make every step count.
Thank you for your support. 💙
